The Tamale High Court ordered the rerun following a petition by the NDC's candidate, Nsala Wakpal, who disputed the 2024 results. The court's ruling highlighted that the final collation was conducted without the NDC's presence, leading to the seat being declared vacant and the EC scheduling the rerun for December 30th.
